Jon Adams has been with the ‘family firm’ for 35 years, and took over as MD from his father, Ray, 12 years ago.  Responsible for all the sales and purchasing, he describes himself as a “flowers and plants man” to the core.  Jon loves the seasonal nature of the business, and the fact that each month brings with it a whole new range of products.  He’s also dedicated to keeping his customers happy – because many of them have bought from Jane Adams for decades, and are friends as well as customers.

Jane Biggerstaff is Jon's sister, and the 'Jane' who gave the company its name. As office and sundries manager for over 20 years, she provides the admin back-up for sales and purchasing - as well as running the sundries department and keeping it stocked with all the best accesories and add-ons that make a florist's life run more smoothly. Jane is the vital link between suppliers and customers, and enjoys serching out fabulous new products.

Kevin Biggerstaff, Jane’s husband, has also been with the business for over 20 years as logistics manager, although he’s also involved in sales.  His previous working life as a mechanic means he can also turn his hand to fixing the company vans if needed – in fact Kevin has a reputation as an all-round Mr Fix-It in any mechanical crisis. 

Mark Dormer might not be one of the Adams family, but his long service makes him almost an honorary member! In fact he has had two stints with the company, with a spell in the Army in the middle.  After military service, he returned for a fortnight’s work – and is still there 15 years on as the driver, salesman – and company wit!  He’s a favourite with the customers, who know him for his quirky habit of wearing shorts 52 weeks a year – and always being ready with a great comedy line.

Simon Jones is the brother-in-law of Jon and Jane, and is the company’s plantsman.  Formerly a chef at the famous Lanesborough Hotel in London, he decided on a career change and studied with the RHS before joining the business three years ago.  Most of his time is spent in the nursery areas, but Simon’s expertise also means he can offer invaluable advice to customers, especially those involved with contract work or landscape design.
